Thursday night I went to a political forum at Jones High school sponsored by the Orlando Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma theta Sorority, Inc. First and formost I would like to thank them for inviting me to the forum. What I am about to say is in no way reflection to the organizations that sponsored this event.

Mr. Don Miller was very rude to all the candidates and I feel was disrespectful towards the people who sponsored the event. It was suppose to be a political debate and he turned it into a racial debate with a “what will you do for me” tone. He kept asking questions based on ethnic background rather then as a district. When I explained twice that I do not see ethnic backgrounds just Americans he became rude towards me. I was not willing to cater to just one group but as my district as a whole which got him to be very rude. After the second time of me stating the above he responded by saying ” The rest of the questions are for candidates who are actually on the ballot”. Which means I was no longer welcome because I was not willing to treat the Black community different from the rest of the communities in the district. I do not know if he was looking for the candidates to show special treatment for Americans with black skin or if he was looking for candidates who will treat all Americans the same. I DO NOT BELIEVE in treating any person special based on their ethnic background. As a U.S. Representative I am suppose to treat all Americans the same. As it says in the Constitution and in the BIBLE ” All men are created EQUAL”. Mr. Don Miller shown racial tendencies toward Black Americans. I do not see African-Americans I just see Americans with dark skin. I do not see Spanish-Americans I see Americans with Hispanic roots. I do not see Asian-Americans I see Americans Asian roots. I think you get the picture. We are all Americans with roots in other countries. I have roots from Iceland, Germany, Ireland, and Scandinavia, but I am still just an AMERICAN!! That is what this Great Country a Great Country, the diversity of its people. So with total respect towards the sponsors of the political forum on Oct 21st I say thank you for working hard on putting together a great event I just wish you would have picked someone other then Mr. Don Miller to moderate. From my point of view he is as much a racist as the low life KKK. The only difference is he is Black and turning his back on his own people. I bet even Mr. Bill Cosby would agree with me.

I have been coming to a realization that no matter how much and how badly and how many people want to hear the whole truth the news media thinks they know better. I was told by a news media outlet that reporting about the “other candidates” ( not Republican or Democrat) would make them an insignificant source of news in the readers eyes. And they didn’t see any point in doing articles or reporting about ALL the candidates. They said non-party candidates ( not Democrat or Republican) do not have a chance to win so why waste their time informing the readers about them. I am not gonna say who this news media was. I would like to hear if anyone else feels like me and to be a respectable news media outlet you should report about all Candidates fairly. The people of this country have become puppets for big money executives of the news media who have their own agenda. When people rely on the media to inform them of who they have to choose and what they stand for but all they get is what these exec’s want them to hear and 99% of the time it is not the complete truth and or not the whole story. So now people are suppose to make a choice of who is going to represent them in the Government with only half truths/flat out lies. So maybe it is the media who truly run the country not the Government. Majority of the politicians make choices based on how the media is gonna react and put it out to the constituents, rather then on principles. the politicians see it that if they can make the media exec’s happy they will get good reviews thus get elected again. That is not how the Political system in this Country was founded nor based on. THIS COUNTRY WAS FOUNDED AS A REPUBLIC NOT A DEMOCRACY!!!!! The founding fathers did this for a reason. They had already seen how greed and the rich can take over a government in a Democracy type government. So they choose a Republic. From what I have read about a Republic form of Government is any person who meets the standards set in the Constitution can campaign to be a politician. But over the last 150 years out of greed and ignorance of the people it has been slowly converted over to a Democracy. So in my eyes any person who says we are a Democratic Government is guilty of treason, YES TREASON. Last time I said the Pledge of Allegiance I said ” I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. For the Republic for which it stands” not for the Democracy for which it stands. So they are breaking their Pledge of Allegiance which in my eyes is treason. What do you think?

Our government is kinda like having two dogs in your house. When the two dogs start fighting over who will be the alpha dog it is time the owner steps in. At this point the owner has three choices.
1) Get rid of one dog.
2) Get rid of both dogs and get new puppies that you can train easier.
3) Beat them both with a newspaper.
I propose the second choice. Lets get rid of the two old dogs ( Democrats and Republicans) and buy some puppies ( Independents, Libertarians, Whigs, etc.). The owners (the voters) can then train the new puppies to how they want them to act. And when those puppies get too big and start to fight over who is alpha then it is time to get rid of them and get Puppies again. This is a basic fact of life and is what has to be done sometimes no matter how much you love your dogs.

I will be holding monthly meetings to inform and educate people about the Florida Whig Party (FWP). The meeting will be held every third Thursday starting June 17th at the Marion County Library on SR 40 and 25th AV. from 6:30-7:45 PM meeting room A. Please, if you can make it and want to meet me in person and learn more about the FWP, come to the meeting. I look forward to meeting as many people as I can and it doesn’t matter what district you live this is a meeting about the FWP not me campaigning. So any and all no matter what your political affiliation just come and ask questions. The FWP chairman, Paul Truesdell, may show up from time to time as a guest speaker. This is an invite to even other political candidates. Who knows maybe you will like what the party stands for and decide to join us. We are trying to build up a third major political party to keep all parties in check and honest. This country is in dyer need of a major third party. Having just two parties in power has lost its check and balances over the last 150 years. So again please come if you can and just listen and/or ask questions. I will answer them to the best of my ability and 100% honestly. Thank you and may GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!

I got an email on my personal email from a friend and it was talking about the Cap and Trade bill ( H.R. 2454). Everyone needs to check this out. I am not totally sure how true this is because I am unable to read the bill for myself but this is unreal.
A License Required for your HOUSE?

If you own your home you really need to check this out. At the end of this email is the Google link to verify. If the country thinks the housing market is depressed now, wait until everyone sees this. No one will be buying homes in the future.

We encourage you to read the provisions of the Cap and Trade Bill that has passed the House of Representatives and are being considered by the Senate. We are ready to join the next march on Washington ! This Congress and their “experts” are truly out to destroy the middle class of the U.S.A.

A License will be required for your house…no longer just for cars and mobile homes….Thinking about selling your house? Take a look at H.R. 2454 (Cap and Trade bill). This is unbelievable! Home owners take note and tell your friends and relatives who are home owners!

Beginning one year after enactment of the Cap and Trade Act, you won’t be able to sell your home unless you retrofit it to comply with the energy and water efficiency standards of this “Cap & Trade” bill, passed by the House of Representatives. If it is also passed by the Senate, it will be the largest tax increase any of us has ever experienced.

The Congressional Budget Office (supposedly non-partisan) estimates that in just a few years the average cost to every family of four will be $6,800 per year. No one is excluded. However, once the lower classes feel the pinch in their wallets, you can be sure that these voters will get a tax refund (even if they pay no taxes at all) to offset this new cost. Thus, you Mr. And Mrs. Middle Class have to pay even more since additional tax dollars will be needed to bail out everyone else..

But wait. This awful bill (that no one in Congress has actually read) has many more surprises in it. Probably the worst one is this: A year from now you won’t be able to sell your house without some bureaucrat’s OK. Yes, you read that right.

The caveat (there always is a caveat) is that if you have enough money to make required major upgrades to your home, then you can sell it. But, if not, then forget it. Even pre-fabricated homes (“mobile homes”) are included. In effect, this bill prevents you from selling your home without the permission of the EPA administrator.

To get this permission, you will have to have the energy efficiency of your home measured. Then the government will tell you what your new energy efficiency requirement is and you will be required to make modifications to your home under the retrofit provisions of this Act, to comply with the new energy and water efficiency requirements.

Then you will have to get your home measured again and get a license (called a “label” in the Act) that must be posted on your property to show what your efficiency rating is; sort of like the Energy Star efficiency rating label on your refrigerator or air conditioner. If you don’t get a high enough rating, you can’t sell.

And, the EPA administrator is authorized to raise the standards every year, even above the automatic energy efficiency increases built into the Act. The EPA administrator, appointed by the President, will run the Cap & Trade program (AKA the “American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009″) and is authorized to make any future changes to the regulations and standards he/she alone determines to be in the government’s best interest. Requirements are set low initially so the bill will pass Congress. Then the Administrator can set new standards every year.

The Act itself contains annual required increases in energy efficiency for private and commercial residences and buildings. However, the EPA administrator can set higher standards at any time. Sect. 202 – Building Retrofit Program mandates a national retrofit program to increase the energy efficiency of all existing homes across America.

Beginning one year after enactment of the Act, you won’t be able to sell your home unless you retrofit it to comply with its energy and water efficiency standards. You had better sell soon, because the standards will be raised each year and will be really hard (expen$ive) to meet in a few years. Oh, goody!

The Act allows the government to give you a grant of several thousand dollars to comply with the retrofit program requirements IF you meet certain energy efficiency levels. But, wait, the State can set additional requirements on who qualifies to receive the grants. You should expect requirements such as “can’t have an income of more than $50K per year”, “home selling price can’t be more than $125K”, or anything else to target the upper middle class (that includes YOU?) and prevent you from qualifying for the grants.

Most of us won’t get a dime and will have to pay the entire cost of the retrofit out of our own pockets. More transfer of wealth, more “change you can believe in.” Sect. 204 – Building Energy Performance Labeling Program establishes a labeling program that for each individual residence will identify the achieved energy efficiency performance for “at least 90 percent of the residential market within 5 years after the date of the enactment of this Act.”

This means that within 5 years 90% of all residential homes in the U.S. must be measured and labeled. The EPA administrator will get $50M each year to enforce the labeling program. The Secretary of the Department of Energy will get an additional $20M each year to help the EPA. Some of this money will, of course, be spent on coming up with tougher standards each year…

Oh, the label will be like a license for your car. You will be required to post the label in a conspicuous location in your home and will not be allowed to sell your home without having this label. And, just like your car license, you will probably be required to get a new label every so often – maybe every year.

But, the government estimates the cost of measuring the energy efficiency of your home should only cost about $200 each time. Remember what they said about the auto smog inspections when they first started: that in California? It would only cost $15. That was when the program started. Now the cost is about $50 for the inspection and certificate.

Expect the same from the home labeling program. Sect. 304 – Greater Energy Efficiency in Building Codes establishes new energy efficiency guidelines for the National Building Code and mandates at 304(d) that one year after enactment of this Act, all state and local jurisdictions must adopt the National Building Code energy efficiency provisions or must obtain a certification from the federal government that their state and/or local codes have been brought into full compliance with the National Building Code energy efficiency standards.

The “middle class” (under $50k/yr income) make up around 70-75% of the voters in America. The “upper class” (over $100k/yr income) only make up about 6-7% of the votes. So they may have the most money but we have the most votes. We need to wake up and stand up for ourselves. We can take this “Republic” back. We need to vote out every single incumbent in Congress and 1/3rd of the Senate in 2010 elections. Then in 2 years we can vote out another 1/3rd of the Senate and get rid of the President. We need Politicians who believes this is a Republic form of government not a Democracy. Within the next 2 years we can replace 500 out of 536 of the incumbents in Washington. Now that is how the people can take back control and do what our founding Fathers had set up and designed how this Government is suppose to work. We need to set term limits. The President is currently only allowed to serve two terms (8 year total). OK so term limit for the Senate is two terms (12 years total). Term limit for Congress would be five (10 years total). Now that would be a total of 20 Years if someone served the max limit as a politician in Washington.
Now lets touch on the pay scale for politicians. From what I can understand from the Constitution, basically it says elected officials get paid, not amount or specifics. Running for an office should not be about becoming rich. I think that a Congressman top out pay should be $100K/yr. Senators get $125k/yr and the President $175k/yr. This would save the Government and tax payers a lot of money. We need to have a “none of the above” on all Federal ballots.

I went to a Tea Party rally here in Ocala. For the most part I agreed with the movement. But I have noticed the movement is about gone and it is now a Republican thing. All over the Country the movement is all about the Republicans not about the people. There are a few Tea Party movement who resisted the Republican take over like the Ocala Tea Party and the Tea Party Patriots of Orlando. These two groups still stand for what the Tea Party movement was about not what it is becoming.
To be honest with everyone, I believe, the Republicans do not truly believe in the movement they are only doing this to take control of Congress back from the Democrats. In typical “political strategy” they are trying to align themselves with a movement or cause just so they can gain power.

I am trying to figure out when this Country became a Democracy. Last time I read the Declaration of Independence, The United States Constitution, and said The Pledge of Allegiance this Country was founded as a REPUBLIC. I do not remember nor can I find where it says DEMOCRACY in any of the above referenced documents. At some point the politicians turned this country into a Democracy which is one of the most corrupt forms of Government ever established in history. (At least according to my research.) So we the people need to stand up and VOTE for people who want to restore this Country as a REPUBLIC form of government. There is a reason our founding fathers specified Republic. they dealt with the different forms of Democracy in Europe and knew that it is a corrupt form of Government and would NOT be the Best for the newest Country in the World. Theoretically Democracy has the same base as a Republic. Just for some reason a Democracy can easily be over run with greed and big business. So if you want to be a true Patriot then VOTE for someone who stands for a Republic form of Government NOT a Democracy. I believe that OUR Country needs to be returned back to the PEOPLE and get big business and Special interest groups out of our Government. I will be a write-in candidate for the Florida 8th Congressional District and I need the Independent voters to go VOTE in the primaries in August and Write my name Steven Gerritzen on the the Ballot. At least this way the Independents of Florida can vote in the primaries.
